World’s Youngest Microsoft Certified Professional Arfa Karim Passes Away at 16



Lahore: World’s youngest Microsoft Certified Professional, Arfa Karim passed away in a hospital in Lahore. She was admitted in hospital for last 26-days. She was merely sixteen years old at the time of her death.
Arfa’s funeral prayers will be offered tomorrow at 10 AM in Cantt Area. After suffering from an epileptic seizure and cardiac arrest a few weeks ago, one of the brightest brains left this world for good today evening.
Born in 1995, Arfa Karim earned the distinction of becoming Youngest MC professional when she was merely 9 years old. Acknowledging the young girl’s talent, Microsoft’s Chairman Bill Gates had invited her to USA at the age of 10 only.

In August 2005, Arfa was conferred by the Pakistan Government for the Fatimah Jinnah Gold Medal in the field of science and technology which was presented to her by then Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz.

Same year, she was also honored by the Salaam Pakistan Youth Award, set up by Pakistan’s only Nobel Laureate Dr. Abdul Salam. Arfa also won the Presidential Award for pride of Performance.

Despite her young age, Arfa represented Pakistan on a number of international forums. Amid her talent in the field of computers and information technology, she was also included as the honorable guest by the IT Professional of Dubai for two weeks in stay in Dubai.

During her stay, the young girl was also awarded by a number of awards and medals from various tech societies and computer companies working in Dubai. Besides a cherished IT professional at a tender age, she was also certified for flying a place at a flying club in Dubai at the age of 10.

May She Rest in Peace, May ALLAH bestowed her with Jannat-ul-Firdous (Ameen).
